Call for Proposals:
IxDA is calling for proposals from cities interested in hosting Interaction 24. Interaction 24 will be held the first week of March 2024.
Since 2008, the Interaction conference has grown to be a significant and must-attend event for design professionals interested in the practice and discipline of interaction design and related fields.
Building on Interaction 21 and Interaction 22, as well as the planned hybrid format for Interaction 23, our intent is to develop a hybrid|distributed Interaction experience accessible to anyone in our global community who wants to participate.
A successful proposal for Interaction 24 will:
- Be led by an active IxDA Local Group
- Have a local design school partner with a strong interaction design program
- Feature a strong and vibrant design community, and unique contributions to the field of interaction design
- Name a volunteer conference chair and core committee, submitted with biographies
- Propose a hybrid or distributed format that extends access to Interaction for IxDA’s global community
- Present a strong vision for interaction design to drive the conference curation
- Demonstrate an engaging conference experience for ~1500 attendees, including recommended venues and conference hotels.
- Include support from the international meeting section of the relevant tourist authority (local or national)
- Include a potential list of financial partners to support the event.
Conference committees and IxDA
Hosting an international conference is a significant undertaking. IxDA is committed to providing guidance, support, and infrastructure to ensure continuity from the previous conferences and a strong foundation for the planning team.
Submitting your city
We encourage IxDA Local Groups to make a case for Interaction 24 to be held in your city. The detailed requirements for proposals are available online, along with a summary of the submission guidelines, timing, review, and selection process.
Timing for submissions
- All submissions are required no later than midnight GMT 31 Aug 2022
- Review of submissions will take place 1–16 Sep 2022
- Shortlist of locations presented to IxDA Board, Sep (Date TBD)
- Site visits of shortlisted candidates, Oct (Date TBD)
- The final selection will be made by 31 October 2022
Each proposal will be acknowledged via email to confirm receipt within the deadline.
