Our 2023 theme is inspired by you — the IxDA community. We asked you what topics were keeping your teams talking. Now, as we open the platform for this year’s events, we’re excited to see how these themes shape your design practice.

If equity in the workplace means everyone receives respectful and dignified treatment, and when equity exists, people have equal access to opportunities, then what is our role and responsibilities as designers in ensuring positive outcomes?

Start planning today

World Interaction Design Day is yours to create. Workshops, talks, and events will happen all around the world on 26 September 2023, asking members of our interaction design community to explore how ethics, equity, and responsibility impact our work, communities, and beyond.

This year’s theme encompasses areas such as ethics in design, designing for accessibility, inclusive and responsible design, and anti-capitalist design.

How to get involved

Anyone can organize a World Interaction Design Day event — whether in-person or online. Head over to the IxDD website and sign up for email updates. If you already have your event details planned, you can submit them now.

Last year, events took place in 18 countries, as communities across the world came together to talk and brainstorm ways to make the world better through design. If you missed the event or just want to relive some of the excitement, check out the highlight video.
